Glory in the Highest

2024 Advent Sermon Series
December 1 – 29, 2024

Christmas is not celebrated all over the world, and yet, throughout all the world, everyone is aware of the significance of this season. This is because in Jesus’ birth and life, as well as His death and resurrection, He proclaimed the truth of the Father, and glorified Him in His obedient actions.
When we come to know and believe in Jesus and see all that He did, we get to behold and experience His glory—the truth and weight of this newborn King of Kings. Therefore we are able to follow His example and do the same – go out and tell the world who God is and glorify God in all we do!

This Christmas, come with us in faithful expectation and joyful adoration as we learn how to give glory to Jesus through all that we do, and proclaim to the world that He is indeed deserving of all the glory in the highest!

Rooted. Formed. Flourishing

November 2024 Sermon Series
November 3 – 17, 2024

Psalm 1 gives a beautiful depiction of a person who delights in the law of the Lord as being a tree that flourishes in its season, as it is firmly planted and being nourished by a steady stream of water.  This steady stream of water is the Law of God—or to put in other terms, the very Word of God.

This is just one of the many agricultural metaphors often used throughout scripture, and Jesus continues this tree imagery with His famous teachings on the Vine and Branches as He calls us to abide/live in/be planted in Him so that we can grow and flourish like the tree in Psalm 1.

The Lord knows and want His followers (then and now) to understand that the ways of the world are designed to hinder and stunt our growth—to get us to wither and fall due to life’s pressing storms.  However, those who are firmly rooted, being formed by His Word, so that we can flourish in all times, are able to withstand life’s hardships, and become more like Christ.

Join us this November, as we dive into each of those words—Rooted, Formed, and Flourishing – and discover how Christ is transforming us into His image, allowing us to become more like Him.

This is My Song: Melodies that Inspire Fruitful Living

2024 Fall Sermon Series
August 25 – October 27, 2024

In music composition, there is a type of chord that is played to create tension. It’s called a chord of dissonance. Composers will use this chord in their compositions to create feelings that long for resolution. They may prolong this dissonance so that when the chord of resolution comes, it is a much welcomed and anticipated feeling of relief.

Often times in our culture, it may feel like we are living through one big chord of dissonance, and this may create feelings of hopelessness as we long for resolution. What is the Christ follower to do in seasons of such conflict? How do we not get swept up in the conflict and emotion of the day?

Join us this Fall as we learn how we can sing a song of resolution, a song centered on living out the Fruits of the Spirit (peace, patience, self control, love, etc), that can only come from loving Jesus and having his Spirit inside of us, so that we can provide a sense of relief and resolution to the world.

The 7 Signs

Lent Sermon Series 2024
2/18/2024 – 3/31/2024

The gospel of John tells us in the beginning of his text, that Jesus came into the world, and to His own people, but the world and His own people knew Him not.

They did not understand the weight of the importance and truth of this newborn baby at Christmas, nor the engaging and convicting teacher before them, nor the significance of His life and ministry among them.
Some called Him Elijah or John the Baptist, others called Him a prophet of old that has returned. Other than Peter, even His disciples were not sure of who exactly they left everything to follow.

Fortunately for us, we have the Gospels in the New Testament to show us exactly who He is. The Gospel of John records seven specific signs Jesus performed to demonstrate to the world the weight of exactly who He is–The Son of God…The Christ.

Journey with us this Lenten season as we discover each of these signs and how they point to the glory and knowledge of Jesus the Christ, so that we may have full eternal life in His name.
